His Excellency Abdulrahman Bin Suleiman Al AHMED, Ambassador of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg said goodbye, on 11 January 2018, to senior officials of the European Union institutions (the European Parliament, the Council, the Commission) on the occasion of the end of his term as head of the Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the European Union, after the completion of the period of 4 years (February 2014 to January 2018).

His Excellency expressed his thanks and appreciation noting the spirit of cooperation demonstrated by officials of European institutions during his tenure, and the distinct relations and understanding between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the European Union in various fields. He thanked as well the members of the Kingdom's mission to the European Union for their efforts to promote the Kingdom's role, policies and positions, by organizing many mutual visits and for achieving much progress during this period, including celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of these relations. It was noteworthy that the Saudi relations with the European Economic Community, which became the European Union, started in 1967, and there had been seven different Chiefs of the Kingdom's Mission to the European Union: (Fouad Nazer 1967, Mohamed Charara 1973, Ibrahim Bakr 1982, Nasser Al Assaf 1994, Abdallah Al Mouallimi  2008 , Faisal Trad 2011, Abdulrahman Alahmed 2014).
