His Excellency Abdulrahman Bin
Suleiman Al AHMED, Ambassador of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques to the
Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and head of the Kingdom's
Mission to the European Union participated as part of the kingdom's delegation in the seminar organized by the Parliamentary
Assembly of the Mediterranean, hosted by the Italian Parliament at its headquarters
in Rome during the period 23-25 November 2017. The participants in the
seminar were the delegation of the members of the Shura Council headed by His
Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Amin Al-Jafri, Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council
, parliamentary delegations from NATO member countries, partner countries and
countries from the Middle East and North
Africa.
The seminar focused on combating
terrorism and extremism and the effects of these
plagues
on the countries of the region and Europe, and reviewed the states experiences and
the best ways taken in this framework
It includes also a number of
topics related to the Middle East and North Africa region, security challenges
in the region and prospects for joint cooperation. The speakers' list includes the President of the Italian Parliament,
the President of the Italian Senate, the Prime Minister of Italy, the Italian
Ministers of Defense and Interior, a number of military figures, academics and
politicians.
The
Kingdom was invited to the seminar by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in order to
participate and cooperate in serving the common interests and to strengthen
ways of cooperation to achieve international peace and security.
