During his visit to Bulgaria on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th January 2010, His Excellency Αmbassador Saleh Al-Ghamdi the non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bulgaria Mr. Saleh Al-Ghamdi met in Sofia with the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism. The meeting took place at the Minister’s office during which the bilateral relations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bulgaria and the desire of the Bulgarian side to develop the economic, tourist and investment relations with the Saudi side were discussed, through implementing the existing agreements and in particular the frame general agreement for cooperation that has entered into power, lately. Both sides examined as well the possibility of signing more agreements covering the fields of Investment and Tourism. Earlier, H.E. the Ambassador met with a delegation representing a Bulgarian engineering group which expressed its desire to explore the opportunities existing in Saudi Arabia in the field of roads and bridges construction and similar infrastructure projects, considering that in such field of activity Saudi Arabia is by far the most important one in the entire Middle East area. H.E. the Ambassador Mr. Saleh Al-Ghamdi provided his interlocutors with important information concerning the Kingdom, its economy and the foreign investment system, giving them a  full picture of the advantages of that system.

Finally, H.E. the Ambassador met on the same day with the Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Sheikh Dr. Mustafa Alish in the Ifta building in Sofia. Discussions with the Mufti covered the welfare of the Muslim citizens of Bulgaria and Darul Ifta plan to build an Islamic Center in Sofia.
