The Ambassador of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques to the Republics of Greece and Bulgaria Mr. Saleh Mohammad Al-Ghamdi held on Friday, August 7, 2009 a reception and a painting exhibition for Saudi artists who are presently visiting the Republic of Greece. The exhibition included a number of works by Saudi women artists which were highly appreciated by the visitors who attended the event.
The Ambassador invited to the evening Foreign Ambassadors accredited to Greece and a large number of dignitaries from the Greek society and the visual mass media as well as newspapers.
In his speech during the event, the Ambassador referred to the important role assumed by the young Saudi women in their developing society and their efforts to project their country’s development and advancement in every field and sector through their excellent art works in order to change the misperception of the Western media concerning the Saudi women.
The Ambassador had also given a few interviews on the sideline of the event, to the Greek national T.V. and private channels that covered the event.
The exhibition and the reception was attended by eight (8) women artists together with the director of the Saudi association for culture and arts in the eastern region of the Kingdom Mr. Ibrahim Bin Youssef Omar who is accompanying the group in his capacity as Director and artist.
