The "Timeshare" System is an essential component and constitutes a factor of tourism activities and spending time. The demand for applying this system has increased in many countries of the world in the past years, that prompting many countries to develop and modernize the regulations governing the handling of this activity.
The system of "Timeshare" allows the distribution of the costs of the construction and furnishing, management, operation and routine maintenance between more than one beneficiary, thus reduce the cost for users (tourists) since that and in particular, tourism is no longer limited to high income earners.
The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has initiated a version of "Timeshare" System for real estate units tourism, which defined the responsibilities and obligations of the contracted parties in this system, and the sanctions applied on violators of the system, the aim is to protect all parties from abusing the system, intentionally or unintentionally.
The operating conditions in the intensive hotel facilities in the cities of Makkah and Medina, is prohibited to engage the System of "Timeshare" activity in those two cities for non-Saudis.
