​​​​A selected group of Australian women from diverse professions, led by anthropologist , and Council for Australian-Arab Relations (CAAR) member Dr Fiona Hill, toured Saudi Arabia this week on a friendship visit hosted by the government of Saudi Arabia.

The visit aimed at promoting positive relations between the people of Australia and Saudi Arabia, and to explore opportunities for cooperation in cultural, educational, and commercial projects.

The visit which was supported by the government of Saudi Arabia included: meetings with Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh region, members of the Shura council, members of the chambers of commerce and industry, Women's Associations and a range of high profile Saudi women. The group also toured some of the significant cultural and historical sites Saudi Arabia has to offer.

Fiona Hill is an anthropologist, cultural consultant, and business mediator committed to promoting greater relations between Australia and the Arab region. She has been a frequent visitor to the kingdom ​of Saudi Arabia for almost a decade.​
