​The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the UK, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf, has leant his support to ongoing efforts to ensure even higher levels of educational standards at King Fahd Academy through further staff training and by its trustees continuing to work towards the adoption of the International Baccalaureate qualification.

At a meeting last week, the Ambassador met with members of the school at the embassy including the Academy’s director, Sumaya Al-Yusuf, who presented a report on the school’s progress in terms of the Baccalaureate and on other matters related to the school’s running.

Prince Mohammed, in reviewing progress, urged the Academy’s trustees to do all they could to raise educational standards even further and to overcome obstacles faced by the institution, in particular the English language course for new students. He also asked for a report as a matter of urgency into the current levels of staff training, the state of the school building, and progress over work for the International Baccalaureate.

The Ambassador also asked the trustees to meet with those who criticized the Academy and demonstrate to them the positive role of the school in the local community and the constructive contribution it also makes to British society in general.

Sumaya Al-Yusuf on the behalf of the Trustees thanked the Ambassador, and asked that he pass on their thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his continued support for both the Academy and the welfare of its staff and students. In a statement made to the Al-Jazira newspaper, she added that every effort was being made to facilitate the Baccalaureate curriculum.  She revealed that there were already programmes designed to improve the standard of the teaching at the Academy, such as the special needs educational programme – run under the auspices of HRH Princess Fadwa bint Kahlid – and the current languages project.

The King Fahad Academy in West London consists of a Girls School and a Boys School with an overall student body of 401 students aged 3-18.
