His Excellency Abdulrahman Bin Suleiman Al AHMED, Ambassador of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and head of the Kingdom Mission to the European Union held a meeting on May 19, 2016, with the Cultural Attaché in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dr. Munir Ben Matni Al OTAIBI with the attendance of Dr. Said Al Rifai in the presence of Saudi scholars in the Kingdom of Belgium within the periodic meetings held by the Mission, with the scholars in the Kingdom of Belgium.

H. E. ALAHMED expressed his gratitude and respect to the Cultural Attaché and members of the cultural mission for their continued support and care they provide for their children studying in Belgium, evaluating this meeting as a big step towards everyone's best interest to exchange views and information and to overcome the obstacles if any, calling on the officials in the Cultural Mission to acknowledge Belgium's prospects for higher education by increasing the communication with the Belgian universities, as well as by increasing the numbers of Saudi scholars in Belgian prestigious universities.

H. E.  ALAHMED complimented the role of the Good Governance, as well as the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques' program for students' exchange, which is considered as an investment in Saudi students, in the core and in the development of the community and in regards of its contribution in developing the ties of collaboration and the cultural communication between the kingdom and the countries supporting students exchange,  including the Belgian Kingdom. This exchange also helps to benefit from Belgian scientific expertise, and to achieve the 2030 vision strategy. He also stressed on the role of the scholars in conveying the true image of the Kingdom's potentials and competences and standing, calling on everyone to represent the kingdom honorable image, as real ambassadors of their religion and of their country, as well as of their community. He also stressed on them to avoid any intellectual theses or opinions affecting their religion and their country and themselves. He also called on them to take caution in such circumstances and ensure adherence to the host country's regulations and laws, he underlined the embassy's cooperation with them as their second homeland.

 

The Cultural Attaché replied to the scholars' questions and listened to their comments and interjections, and then they all attended the dinner reception along with Mr. Adnan BAMAGOOS, Deputy Chief of mission, Mr. Mashare Ben Nahit, head of Saudi nationals department, Mr Albaraa KHATTAB and Mr. Saoud ALMOUTAIRI from the embassy.
