Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Duchy of Luxemburg and the Head of
the Kingdom's Mission to the European Union Abdulrahman Sulaiman Al-Ahmad
welcomed the kingdom of Belgium on the occasion of the visit of the Delegation
of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and other Belgian authorities , headed by the Secretary General of the
Ministry, Dirk Achten, to the Kingdom from 6 to 8 November 2017.
He noted that the aim of this visit was to
strengthen relations between the two countries, based on mutual respect and
common desire to continue to support and strengthen these relations in many
areas.
He added that the two kingdoms are linked by outstanding
relations in all fields. These relations show the appreciation of the Kingdom
of Belgium for the Kingdom's growing role both at the regional and
international level, as well as its credibility and its keenness to support
international peace and security, under the patronage of the Custodian of the
Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince Mohammad
bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God preserve them.
He stressed that this visit came within the
framework of the aspiration of the two sides to open more channels of bilateral
dialogue and exchange views and opinions on issues of common interest to serve
their relations.
He pointed out that the visit came after
several visits between the two sides. The most recent one was the visit of the
Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir to Belgium, and his meeting with the Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Belgium,
Didier Renders, on July 20, 2017.
