I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the European Union.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to play a central role in world politics as portrayed by its deep Islamic and Arabic ties, and as homeland to the Two Holly Mosques, and in in what it represents in economic weight and safe source of energy. Without a doubt the Kingdom is the Arab, Islamic and International “House of Concord”, and has a pioneering presence on the level of international politics and contributes to resolving political and humanitarian crisis. The Kingdom jointly participates with the European Union in promoting global peace and stability.
The relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the European Union dates back to more than 50 years.
Given the importance of the European Union and its role on a worldwide level, combined with the keenness of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holly Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, to strengthen relationships with the European mainland, as one of the key components of the Kingdoms multilateral foreign policy, the Kingdom culminated these relationships in establishing the Saudi Mission to the European Union in the Belgian capital of Brussels in January 2018.
The Kingdom is linked to the European Union with deep, solid and well-established ties in all fields/areas/spheres, as evident in intense political discourse and multifaceted cooperation in economic, commercial, cultural, educational, touristic, humanitarian and parliamentary spheres/fields. In addition to enhancing/fostering/promoting a culture of moderation, tolerance and cooperation in combating terrorism and extremist thought, and at the same time promoting energy security, sector development, prevention of conflicts and maintenance of regional and international peace.
We trust that we and our allies in the European Union agree on continuing to work towards strengthening these relationships and mutually cooperating in all fields to reach higher potentials.
We earnestly hope for this electronic window to act as an interface between us and visitors of our electronic website, and for our website to provide useful information on the Kingdoms political, economic, social and cultural aspects and other related areas of our country and the European Union, in addition to coverage of the various activities of the Saudi Mission.
