The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Ms. Louka Katseli (former Minister of Economy, Competitiveness & Shipping) attended, on Tuesday, September 21st, 2010, the dinner hosted in her honour by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Greece, H.E. Mr. Saleh Al-Ghamdi, at his residence. The dinner was attended by the Ambassadors of the G20 residing in Greece.
H.E. the Saudi Ambassador in his opening speech welcomed the Minister Ms. Katseli and her assistants as well as his colleagues the Ambassadors of the G20 in Greece. He reviewed the outstanding role Saudi Arabia has been playing – being a member of this group- in strengthening and stabilizing the world’s economy through its numerous participations in supporting the emerging economies and the poor countries that has promoted the Kingdom to the top rank worldwide in proportion to its national income and the Kingdom’s oil policy whose main aim is to stabilize the markets and ameliorate the world’s economy.
The Minister on her part expressed her profound esteem to the Ambassador for the event he had successfully organized and the invitation he extended to her personally and her companions. She thanked him for the opportunity she had to meet with the Ambassadors of the G20 in Athens and expressed her conviction that such meetings will help others to become aware of and understand the problems which have overwhelmed Greece as well as the solutions proposed by the government to overcome the crisis.
Long and interesting discussions followed Ms. Katseli’s speech and she remarkably and methodically gave her enlightening answers to all the queries addressed to her.
