On Thursday the 20th April 2006 (22/03/1427 Hijiri), HE Mr Faisal Hamid Moalla, Charge D'Affaires of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, officially opened the 2nd Exhibition of Saudi Products in South Africa, known as "2nd SAUDI ARABIA IN SOUTH AFRICA". In his welcoming speech, Mr Moalla informed the visitors that the "2nd SAUDI ARABIA IN SOUTH AFRICA" aims at contributing to the export growth through promoting and marketing the Saudi products. He also emphasized on the strong ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of South Africa, saying: "The Exhibition is an excellent opportunity for the enhancement of the economic relations between the two countries". He invited both the business sector and the South African public to visit the exhibition indicating that the Saudi products are well known as being satisfactory and of excellent quality.

The opening ceremony of the Saudi exhibition, which is held in the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, from the 20-24 April 2006, was attended by a number of Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corp, representatives of the business sector and the media.​
