Also the visit of His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden, Honorary President of the World Scout Fund and his wife Queen Silvia to Saudi Arabia to participate in the World Scout Jamboree II and to launch the Scout Program "Messengers of Peace" based on the initiative of the King Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz in the period from 27-30 /9/2011. During the visit, King Carl decorated the Saudi monarch with the Bronze Wolf Medal, which is the highest Scout honor for his humanitarian effort praising the efforts and different initiatives to promote peace between peoples.

At the political level, Sweden has supported the ​Saudi diplomacy efforts in order to establish security and stability, respect for rules of international law and adherence to the requirements of international legitimacy and resolutions, as noted by many Swedesh officials in difference international forums in these efforts, including the peace initiative launched by the Kingdom for the Middle East.

On the economic level, there are a lot of commercial ties and joint economic projects between the two countries in many areas, some related to railways, roads, transportation, technology, telecommunications, and others related to the field of health and education.

Saudi Arabia is the largest trading partner for Sweden in the Middle East, The volume of trade exchange between the two countries was 12 billion SEK 2011. Most important goods imported by Sweden to Saudi Arabia are telecommunication equipments, power generation, machinery, electrical equipment, transport equipments, measurements and control equipments, as well as trained manpower such as engineers, doctors and nurses, etc.​
