Saudi Ambassador in Australia,Hassan Nazer. New Zealand Governor general, Dame Silvia Cartwright. Agriculture Hon Jim Anderton, and Minister of Education Trevor Mallard. During the meeting, they reviewed issues of mutual interest. The Ambassador Nazer had praised the relationship between Saudi Arabia and New Zealand and affirmed the relationship that is growing day by day in every aspect for the interests of both countries. Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand Mr Hassan Tala't Nazer presented his credentials to New Zealand's Governor General Silvia Cartwright.

Nazer conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz and their wishes of good health and prosperity to Cartwright and to the friendly people of New Zealand. On her part, rtwright conveyed her greetings to King Abdullah, His Crown Prince Sultan and to the Saudi people stressing the distinguished relations between the two countries. Nazer also met New Zealand's Parliament Speaker Margaret Wilson Hon; Foreign Minister Philip Bruce Goff; Minister of Saudi Arabian government help fight bird flu. The Saudi Arabian government has announced that they have donated $1 million USD ( $1, 350 000 AUD) to the Food And Agriculture organization of The United Nations to help fight the bird flu which threats those infected in the Asian region.
