A delegation of leading businessmen from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia led by Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Rabiah, Co-Chairman of Saudi-Indian Business Council visited India during 20-22 November 2005 and held extensive meetings with their Indian counterparts both in New Delhi and Hyderabad.

 

While in New Delhi, the delegation participated in the first meeting of Saudi –Indian Business Council which was organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). The meeting, co-chaired by Mr. Al Rabiah from Saudi side and Mr. Rajan Kohli, Deputy Secretary General, FICCI from Indian side, was also attended and addressed by Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in India Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi and Joint Secretary (Gulf) of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India Mr. Sanjay Singh. The delegation members also held a meeting with Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry of India Mr. Kamal Nath. Ambassador Al-Ghamdi hosted a dinner in honour of the visiting delegation.

 

 During their visit to Hyderabad, the Saudi delegation held interactive sessions with leading Indian businessmen, which were organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). They also visited various information technology centres in the city.

 

The Chief Minsiter of the state of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy hosted a dinner in honour of the Saudi delegation.

 

The discussions of Saudi business leaders with their Indian counterparts centred on expanding the bilateral trade and exploring investment opportunities between the two countries.
