The Saudi National Football team concluded its visit to India on Wednesday, the 16th August 2006 after scoring 3-0 win against Indian Team in a match of Asian Cup qualifiers. The match was played at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday evening in the presence of the Saudi delegation accompanying the team as well as staff members of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in New Delhi who were deputed to Kolkata to receive the national football team and look after their arrangements during their stay in Kolkata. The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in India H.E. Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi hosted a dinner at Hotel Sheraton, Kolkata in honour of the national team and the accompanying delegation led by Mr. Fahd Al-Musaibih, which was also attended by some officials of Indian Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs.
