The Saudi School in New Delhi held on Saturday the 26th May 2007 its annual function marking the end of the current academic year. The function was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to India Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi, Ambassadors of GCC countries and the parents of the Saudi and Arab students.

 

The programme started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by presentation of cultural programmes by students including poems in which they expressed their thanks and gratitude to the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for opening the Saudi School in New Delhi and providing them excellent facilities for study from Nursery till the secondary classes while enabling them to live with their parents.

 

The students of the primary section also presented a wonderful poem titled ‘Baba Abdullah’ expressing their love and affection towards the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The cultural programme presented by the students was greatly admired by all those present.

 

His Excellency Ambassador Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi delivered a speech on the occasion in which he reviewed the journey of School’s first academic year since its inauguration in the second half of last year. The Ambassador said that the opening of Saudi School in India is a manifestation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’s care and concern for the Saudi citizens wherever they are, and his keenness to take care of their educational and other needs.

 

Afterwards, the Ambassador presented prizes to the meritorious students of various classes and shields of honour to the members of the faculty. In the end, the Ambassador along with the audience and the students performed the Saudi traditional ‘Arda’ and the function concluded with the singing of the National Anthem of the Kingdom.
