In a grand ceremony organized by Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi on Thursday 6th September 2007, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of India Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi and the Vice-Chancellor of the Jamia Millia Prof. Mushirul Hasan laid the foundation stone of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Health Centre inside the campus of the prestigious university in the Indian capital. The ceremony was attended by the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs as representative of the Government of India as well as a number of prominent personalities and faculty members of Jamia Millia and some foreign diplomats based in New Delhi.

 

 

The Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia, in his speech on the occasion, expressed the university’s thanks and gratitude to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, saying that that the university is proud of having this important medical facility inside its campus which will not only serve the students and faculty members of the university but its benefits will also extend to the people of adjoining areas.

 

 

Ambassador Al-Ghamdi also delivered a speech on this occasion in which he thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his kind words of appreciation and gratitude for the Government and people of the Kingdom. He said that what the Kingdom is doing is only a humble expression of the deep-rooted historical relations between the two friendly nations, which have acquired further depth and strength after the landmark visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz to India in January 2006.
