The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating in the 18th New Delhi World Book Fair organized by the National Book Trust (NBT) of India at Pragati Maidan in the Indian capital. The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to India H. E. Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi attended on Saturday: 2nd February 2008, the inaugural function of the eight-day Book Fair in which more than 40 countries besides India are participating.
The Ambassador also visited the Kingdom's stall in the Fair where several Saudi organizations and institutions including the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Information, King Abdul Aziz Library, King Saud University and King Fahd Complex for Printing of the Holy Quran are displaying their books and publications. He met the representatives of the participating Saudi organizations and thanked them for their efforts in arranging the stall and receiving the visitors and thus introducing the Kingdom's civilization and its contributions in the fields of literature and publishing. The Ambassador also hosted a lunch on Sunday at Hotel Ashok for the Saudi representatives, which was attended by officials of the Embassy and heads of its affiliated offices.
It may be noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is regularly participating in this important book fair for several years.
