On Thursday: 17th April 2008, the Lok Sabha Channel of the Indian House of Representatives hosted Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to India Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi for an interview which was conducted by Prof. Pushpesh Pant. The interview which lasted for about one hour centred on several issues concerning Saudi Arabia that could be of interest to the Indian viewer. The questions focused on the process of large scale reforms being carried out in the Kingdom under the visionary leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, including judicial reforms and the role of Saudi women in building the society. The talk also touched on the historic relations between Saudi Arabia and India and the great momentum that the relations have witnessed in recent times specially after the historic visit of King Abdullah to India in 2006, which led to widening the horizons of cooperation between the two friendly countries in various political, economic, cultural, scientific and educational spheres. The Ambassador also responded to questions concerning the phenomenon of terrorism and the key role being played by the Kingdom in fighting terror and extremism. Former Indian diplomat Mr. Ishrat Aziz participated in the talk from India side.

            The interview, which will be telecast soon, will provide the viewers of Lok Sabha channel who mostly belong to the elite section of the Indian society,  an opportunity to know the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its political system and Islamic culture in a better and comprehensive manner.
