The Minister of Panchayati Raj of the Republic of India, H.E. Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar hosted a lunch on Thursday 29th May 2008 to honour the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to India, Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi on the occasion of Ambassador’s imminent departure from India to Greece, the place of his new assignment. The function was attended by several officials of the Government of India and a number of Arab and Muslim Ambassadors accredited in the Indian capital.
Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister lauded the efforts made by Ambassador Al-Ghamdi during his tenure in India, which led to unprecedented growth and development of bilateral and people to people relations between the two friendly countries. He said that he is proud to be a friend of the Saudi Ambassador and expressed his best wishes to the Ambassador for good luck and success in his new assignment.
