The Prime Minister of the Republic of India His Excellency Dr. Manmohan Singh received at his residence on Monday 2nd June 2008 the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to India Mr. Saleh Mohd Al-Ghamdi, who called on the Prime Minister to say good-bye to him on completion of his tenure in India. During the meeting, the Hon’ble Prime Minster asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. He also praised the tremendous growth in the relations of the two friendly countries that has been achieved during Ambassador’s tenure, while emphasizing on the importance of continuing the efforts to further consolidate the relations and build a strong strategic partnership between India and the Kingdom in all fields. The Prime Minister expressed his personal happiness over the great strides made by the two countries in their bilateral relations especially after the historic visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to India in 2006.
Earlier on the same day, Ambassador Al-Ghamdi called on the Minister of External Affairs of India, H.E. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee for the same purpose. The Hon’ble Minister underlined the strength and firmness of the relations between the two friendly countries in all spheres of cooperation. He said that he was proud of the working relationship and the friendship that he had with Ambassador Al-Ghamdi and wished him all the best for his new assignment.
