Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah

With deep sorrow the royal court, in the name of HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz and all members of the family, announces the death of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud after a short illness.
May God grant the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah, His great mercy and forgiveness, and allow him to reside in His wide heaven.
The late King is being buried today (Friday) in accordance with tradition.
King Abdullah, who was in his 90s, had ruled since 2005. King Abdullah led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with wisdom and skill for over 10 years. A man of great vision and a wise leader who had devoted himself to the service of his religion, country, people and the Arab and Muslim world.
HRH Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf Al Saud, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the UK said: “King Abdullah was an extraordinary man, a leader who will be remembered by history for his dynamic role in strengthening and developing our nation, in bringing together people of all faiths, in searching for peaceful solutions to world conflicts and striving for regional stability.”
A book of condolences will be open at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, 15 Curzon Street, London W1 today (Friday 23 January, 2015) between 14.00 and 17.00 hours and on Monday and Tuesday 26 and 27 January, 2015 between 11.00 and 15.00 hours.
