Food producers from across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are taking part for the first time ever in the International Food and Drink Exhibition (IFE) in London.
As well as showcasing 45 different exhibitors in the Saudi Pavilion, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has this year partnered with IFE to sponsor this world renowned food event.
HRH Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf Al Saud, Saudi Ambassador to London, attended the opening of the exhibition, inaugurating the Saudi Pavilion. He then toured exhibition stands accompanied by Dr Ahmed Al Hakbani, Secretary General of the Saudi Export Development Authority.
Prince Mohammed said that the Kingdom's sponsorship of the event demonstrated its determination to expand and strengthen its economy. It was part of the Kingdom's ongoing economic strategy. It also reinforced Saudi Arabia's determination to support and encourage local producers and businesses in the Kingdom to export their goods to Europe.
He thanked the Minister of Commerce, Dr.Tawfig Fawzan Alrabiah for his continuous support, and also thanked the President of the Council of Saudi Chambers, Dr Abdul Rahman Al-Zamil and Mr Ahmed Al Hakbani for their support.
Christopher McCuin, Event Director for IFE said: "We are excited to be showcasing the fantastic, food, drink and culture coming from Saudi Arabia. They are a perfect fit for IFE 2015. We feel very privileged that IFE is exhibiting these products from such a fast developing country."
More than 1350 exhibitors from 57 countries are taking part in the exhibition.
