Muscat, December 7, 2021, SPA -- His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman today at Al-Alam Palace in Muscat received His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.
HRH the Crown Prince was received in an official welcoming ceremony, where the two national anthems of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Sultanate of Oman were played and the artillery fired 21 shots welcoming HRH the Crown Prince.
Afterwards, HRH the Crown Prince greeted the Omani Royal Family and senior officials, while His Majesty Sultan Haitham greeted the Saudi princes, ministers and senior officials accompanying HRH the Crown Prince.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Sultan of Oman held an official discussion session.
At the beginning of the session, His Majesty Sultan Haitham welcomed HRH the Crown Prince in his current visit to the Sultanate, while HRH the Crown Prince expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality received from the Sultan.
HRH the Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Sultan of Oman who, in turn, sent his greetings to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
During the talks, both sides reviewed the brotherly ties between the two brotherly countries and prospects of cooperation in various fields.
Discussions also went over the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy; Prince Turki bin Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet; Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports; Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of interior; Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of the National Guard; Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture; Dr. Musaed bin Mohammad Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and National Security Adviser; Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce; and Saudi Ambassador to Oman Abdullah bin Saud Al Anazi attended the discussions from the Saudi side.
It was also attended on the Omani side by Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers; Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of the Sultan, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al-Said and several princes, ministers and senior officials.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.
Later, the Sultan awarded His Royal Highness the Crown Prince with the Oman Civil Order of the First Class as a gesture of appreciation and pride in brotherly ties, distinguished relations and constructive cooperation. This order is among the most prestigious Omani medals, and is granted to kings, heads of state, crown princes and heads of government.
