On Sunday, 27th May, 2018, The Saudi Minister attended the Yearly Grand Competition of Memorization of the Holy Quran, which was attended by H.E. Mr. Qasem Magilwa, Tanzanian Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Hussein Ali Muwaini, Tanzanian Minister of Defense, and the Grand Mufti of Tanzania Sheikh Abubakar Bin Zubair bin Ali.

The ceremony was held at Dar es Salaam International Stadium in the presence of more than 60 thousand people. During the awards ceremony, the Saudi Minister announced that the Saudi Government will build and construct an Islamic University in Tanzania. His Excellency also announced that the Kingdom will host the top five winners of this competition to perform Umrah.
