DR.Ameer Ali- The president of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils,

MR.Amjad Ali Mehboob chief executive officer, Brother Shafiq Alham president of the Muslim council, honourable guests, brothers and sisters.

Praise is to Allah……. The month of Ramadan has approached you, with his mercy and blessings, it is during this month, that Muslims fast during the daylight hours, and in the evening eat small meals and meet with friends and family. It is the time of worship, a time to strengthen family and community ties. For more than a billion Muslims around the universe, Ramadan is a month of blessings masked by prayers, fasting and charity, exercises strict control over his tounge, eyes, ears, thought and deeds, and does everything possible to seek the pleasure of Allah.

Brothers and sisters in Islam,

It is a great pleasure for me, to attend this event with you; I thank you today for inviting me to this event. I have looked forward to this evening, because it has given me yet another opportunity, to strengthen, my personal ties, and friendship, with members, with members of the Muslim community. I have enjoyed being with you in the past, and I hope that occasions such as this, will further strengthen the ties that find us together.

The Muslim community in Australia, has emerged as a significant intellectual, and economic force in this country, I believe that much of the credit for this is due to the leadership of the Muslim community.

For my part, I have tried to carry out my diplomatic mission, in two parallel spheres……

My primary function is to represent the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to the Australian people, but I also serve proudly, as the link between my country and the Muslim community in this region.

I do this, as part of Saudi Arabia long history of commitment and support, to Muslims all over the world.

As the representative and ambassador of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I can tell you, that we are always ready to do what we can, to promote unity within the Muslim community, by being here tonight, each of us recognises that we share a common cause and a common commitment.
