Saudi Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, H.E Hassan Talaat Nazer hosted a reception in honor of the Kingdom's 77th National Day at the Hyatt Hotel in Canberra.
The guests included Australian officials, members of parliaments, Arab and Muslim ambassadors as well as staff of the Embassy, and Saudi students on scholarships in Australia and their families.
The ceremony was opened with the National anthems of  Saudi Arabia and Australia by H.E Hassan Nazer and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs Chief of Protocol .
At the celebration, Saudi children performed a traditional Saudi dance and Saudi information flyers and books were distributed.
At the occasion, the Ambassador Hassan Nazer conveyed his congratulations and best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz, the Royal Family and to the Saudi People.
on the anniversary of the National Day of Saudi Arabia.
In his speech the Ambassador Nazer praised the progress initiated by their King and founder King Abdul Aziz since the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ambassador nazer reaffirmed that  the Saudi - Australian relations are to be commended. He pointed out that these relations are in good shape, developing and strengthening  day by day due to the growing positive desire in building joint projects of partnership between the  two countries. This has been achieved by mutual visits of delegations between the two friendly countries, he stated.
The Ambassador Nazer pointed out to the significant increase in
the numbers of the Saudi  students attending Australian universities  and asked them to take greater efforts and perseverance & return home to  skillfully participate in the development of Saudi Arabia.

He said there is increased cooperation in education, training of teachers, doctors & other health professionals as well as in sport & youth  activities between the two countries.
At the conclusion Ambassador Nazer conveyed his best wishes to  the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown prince , the Royal family and the Saudi people on the occasion of this great day.
