Reaffirming The Custodian of the Two Holy mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz call for dialogue and Recalling Muslim Nation Scholars call upon him to convene an International Inter-faith Dialogue,
The MWL Secretariat General under the gracious patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques will convene (The International Inter-faith Dialogue) in Madrid / Spain in the period between 16 to 18 July 2008.
Leading personalities representing various monotheistic religions would participate in the conference which would discuss a range of topics including life of human societies, international co-operation, human rights & security and global peaceful co-existence, explained MWL Secretary General Mr. Abdullah al-Turki.he Custodian of the two holy Mosques initiative for inter-faith, inter-cultural and inter-civilization dialogue adopted by the International Islamic Conference on Dialogue held in Makkah al-Mukarramah, has been unanimously hailed by prominent scholars and thinkers participated in the conference and was endorsed by a tremendous Islamic consensus’ said Dr. Turki.
“The MWL received numerous calls from Muslim and International organizations, research centres and individual prominent scholars emphasizing the need for holding an international forum where representatives of different monotheistic religions & ideologies and leaders of thinking and promoters of justice and peace would engage to discuss the Makkah al-Mukarramah Call towards building of better future for humanity endorsed by the values of religions and shared morals” added Dr. Turki.
The Conference will focus on four major issues;
· Dialogue; its roots and origins in religions and civilizations.
· The importance of dialogue in the Human Society with a scope on the effects of dialogue on the issues of peaceful co-existence, international relations and in the face of claims of conflicts, clashes and contradictions.
· The promotion of common values of human society to confront evil, crime, drugs, corruption and environmental degradation.
· Assessment and promotion of the mechanism of dialogue through the support of governments, NGOs and media.
