The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of India, H.E. Mr. Faisal Hassan Trad participated in the conference on “Peace - The Solution for Humanity” organized in Mumbai by the Islamic Research Foundation, which is headed by Dr. Zakir Naik. Speaking at the conference, Ambassador Trad affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, takes pride in being the servant of the Two Holy Mosques and the birthplace of Islam’s eternal message and the teachings of Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, that call for peace, tolerance and justice. He said that the daily greeting in Islam is ‘Peace be upon you’, which means praying for peace, security and safety of all.
In this regard, the Ambassador reminded of the interfaith dialogue initiated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in 2008 for building a better human society, stressing that the common human values and principles, the foremost of which is the desire for peace, are the essence of the true Islamic religion.
Ambassador Faisal Hassan Trad pointed out that Allah has honoured the human beings by saying in His Holy Book that “If anyone slays a person -unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land- it would be as if he slew all people. And if anyone saves a life, it would be as if he saved the lives of all people”. He said that this is a clear and unequivocal proof that Islam can never be a source of terrorism and manslaughter, adding that terror has no religion, nationality or boundary; it is an international plague that needs to be fought and eradicated by the whole world so that we can live in peace.
Concluding his speech, Ambassador Trad urged the Indian Muslims to demonstrate the true teachings of Islam represented in moderation, kindness, peace and justice. He emphasized that a true Muslim is the one who does not cause any harm to anybody by his words or actions, and that a good Muslim should also be a good citizen of his country.
