A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Information and Studies Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) of the Ministry of External Affairs, Republic of India on Friday the 24th of June 2005 in New Delhi. The MoU was signed by His Highness Prince Ambassador Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Khalid, Direcotr General of the above Centre from the Saudi side and His Excellency Mr. Atish Sinha, Secretary and Dean of the above Institute, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi and a number of officials of the External Affairs Ministry of India. The MoU provides for exchange of information and expertise and conduct of research and studies between the two sides including training and deputation of diplomats to both New Delhi and Riyadh to avail from the experiences of both sides in this field. The MoU also envisages holding seminars in both Riaydh and New Delhi under direct supervision of the two sides.

This agreement falls under the general memorandum of understanding signed between the Foreign Ministries of the two friendly countries in 2001.
