On the occasion of the Soccer World Cup 2006 in which the Saudi team is participating for the fourth time in a row, Doordarshan News, the public broadcaster of India held an interview with His Excellency Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of India, during which the Ambassador responded to various questions about the Saudi team and its aspirations during this World Cup, shedding light on the good composition of the team which will be reflected in their matches with various teams .

            The Ambassador said that the Saudi team is looking forward to accomplish new achievements to supplement its good record during the last three rounds of World Cup, adding that the team had won Asian Cup three times.

            The Ambassador was also interviewed by both Al-Arabia Channel and Channel-7 of India on this subject and highlighted the efforts being made by the Government of Saudi Arabia to promote youth and sports sector.
