His Excellency Mr. Arjun Singh, the Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India, inaugurated the Saudi School in New Delhi on Wednesday 20th September 2006 in the presence of Saudi Ambassador Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi and Deputy Minister of Education of Saudi Arabia Mr. Ali Bin Nasser Al-Wizra. The inaugural ceremony, held at the school premises in New Delhi, was also attended by Mr. Sanjay Singh, Joint Secretary (Gulf), Ministry of External Affairs of India, Mr. Keshav Desiraju, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development of India and Arab Ambassadors accredited in the Indian capital.

Ambassador Al-Ghamdi, in his welcome address on the occasion, thanked the Hon’ble Minister Arjun Singh for sparing his precious time to grace this ceremony and said that his presence reflected the depth and warmth of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Hon’ble Minister Mr.Arjun Singh, in his speech, expressed happiness on being the guest of honour at the inauguration of the first Saudi school in India and hoped that the relations between the two friendly countries will be further strengthened in days to come.

A IX class student of the school also delivered a welcoming address on behalf of the students.

After the ceremony, the Minister accompanied by Ambassador Al-Ghamdi, Deputy Minister, Mr. Al-Wizra and Arab Ambassadors went around the school and saw various classes in action.
