The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of India H.E. Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi hosted a grand reception on Friday 22, September 2006 at Hotel Taj Palace in New Delhi to celebrate the 76th Saudi National Day. The ceremony was attended by a number of Indian dignitaries including H.E. Mr. K.Rehman Khan, Deputy Chairperson, Rajya Sabha, H.E. Mr. Vyalar Ravi, Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs, a number of Members of Parliament, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, a host of Indian Government officials and representatives of private sectors as well as a large number of Ambassadors and diplomats of foreign and Arab missions in New Delhi.

 

            The Government of India was represented in the ceremony by H.E. Mr. K. Rehman Khan, Deputy Chairperson, Rajya Sabha.

 

            Ambassador Al-Ghamdi led the officials of the Saudi Embassy, its other offices and the members of the Saudi School in receiving and welcoming the guests.

 

            During the function, a number of documentary films narrating the progress and achievements of the Kingdom in various fields were shown and some information material, books and posters and also copies of the Holy Quran were distributed among the participants.
