The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of India Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi participated in the annual All India Haj conference which was held in New Delhi on Friday 11th May 2007. The Conference was attended by the Minister of External Affairs of India, H.E. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee; Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha, H.E. Mr. K.Rehman Khan; Minister of State For Civil Aviation, H.E. Mr. Praful Patel; Chairman of the Central Haj Committee of India and Member of Parliament, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Saradgi.
In his speech at the conference, the Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs extended the thanks and gratitude of the Government of India to the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for providing facilities and comfort to the Indian Haj pilgrims, especially the huge expansion carried out on the Jamarat bridge in Mina. The Hon’ble Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha also praised the Kingdom for taking care of millions of pilgrims every year and for the facilities provided to the Indian pilgrims as well as for increasing India’s quota.
Ambassador Saleh Al-Ghamdi, in his address to the conference, expressed his profound thanks to the Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs of India as well as to the Hon’ble Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha and the Chairman of Central Haj Committee for their noble sentiments towards the Kingdom’s leadership and the people. He said that whatever the Kingdom is doing towards the Muslims from all over the world is only a duty that the Kingdom is honoured to perform. The Ambassador called upon the Haj committees in various parts of India to guide and educate the Haj pilgrims and provide them with the necessary information that they need while performing the Haj rituals in the holy places.
