The Ambassador of the Custodian the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of India Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi participated in the third GCC-India Industrial Forum meeting which was held in Mumbai.

 

The GCC side in the Forum was led by the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Dr. Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani as the Kingdom currently holds the chair of GCC. The Hon’ble Minister was accompanied by a delegation of the Ministry including Mr. Abdullah Al-Hamoudi, Secretary, Foreign Trade. The Forum was also attended by the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Oman, H.E. Mr. Maqbool Ali Sultan along with other delegations from GCC countries as well as a large number of Gulf businessmen. The Indian side in the Forum was led by Minister of Commerce and Industry H.E. Mr. Kamal Nath.

 

Ambassador Saleh Al-Ghamdi was present to receive the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Hashim Abdullah Yamani on his arrival in Mumbai and also saw him off at the airport after the conclusion of conference.

 

The third GCC-India Industrial Forum meeting was the most successful of the three meetings as it produced very good results towards activating the trade, industrial and investment cooperation between the two sides, which included a decision to set up a joint holding company with an initial investment of US$ 50 million, of which $ 10 million each will be contributed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and India, while the remaining amount will be contributed by other GCC countries.
