The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of India Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi received at his office at the Embassy premises in New Delhi the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia University, Prof. Mushirul Hasan and handed over to him a cheque of Indian Rupees five million representing the first installment of the donation pledged by the Kingdom for the construction of a health centre at the University campus in New Delhi which the University authorities have decided to name as ‘King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Health Centre’. The Health Centre will benefit thousands of students belonging to various sections of the Indian society.
The Ambassador had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vice-Chancellor for the construction of the Health Centre which is expected to be operational in 2008.
