The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in India hosted a grand reception on Monday 10th September 2007 at Hotel Taj Palace in New Delhi to celebrate the National Day of the Kingdom. The function was attended by a large gathering of guests, which included the Indian Minister of State for Defence, the Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Ambassadors of Arab and foreign countries in New Delhi, members of Indian Parliament, religious and media personalities, businessmen, other Indian dignitaries and friends of the Embassy. The Saudi students studying in New Delhi also attended the function. The Government of India was represented in the ceremony by the Minister of State for External Affairs, H.E. Mr. E. Ahmed.

 

The guests were received at the function by H.E. the Ambassador of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques to India Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi who was accompanied by officials of the Embassy, heads of Saudi offices attached to the Embassy.

During the function, a large number of books and information material as well as copies of the Holy Quran were distributed and the guests were also entertained with the Arabian coffee and Saudi dates.
