The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of India H.E. Mr. Saleh Mohd. Al-Ghamdi attended on Sunday 21st October 2007 the closing ceremony of the fourth Military World Games held in the city of Hyderabad in Southern India, in which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated with a 35 member athletics team led by Brig. Hussain Al-Yami. The Saudi team, by the grace of Allah, won four gold medals and one bronze in the athletics competitions - one gold in 400 m hurdles race, another gold in 800 m race and a third one in jumping competition. The fourth gold won by the Kingdom was in 4x400 relay race while the bronze medal was in 4x400 relay race.

 

            To celebrate this well-deserved success, the Ambassador hosted a dinner at the Hotel Sheraton, Hyderabad which was attended by the Leader and members of the Saudi athletics team as well as by H.E. Mr. Mohd. Ali Shabbir, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Energy and Information in the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

 

            The Ambassador conveyed to the athletes the felicitations of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince on this impressive achievement which was the biggest among the countries of the Middle East and better than many other participating countries and was admired by the participants and

audience of the fourth Military World Games participated by 102 countries from various continents of the world.
