The Ambassadors of the Arab countries accredited in the Republic of India hosted a lunch on Friday 30th May 2008 at Hotel Imperial in New Delhi in honour of their Dean, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to India, Mr. Saleh Mohd Al-Ghamdi. The function was held to mark the completion of Ambassador’s tenure in India and his imminent departure to the Republic of Greece as Ambassador of the Kingdom.
In addition to the Arab ambassadors, the function was also attended by two secretaries of the Ministry of External Affairs of India as well as the Special Envoy of the Indian Prime Minister for West Asia and Middle East Peace Process, Mr.C.R. Gharekhan. At the end of ceremony, the Arab Ambassadors presented to Ambassador Al-Ghamdi a commemorative shield signed by all, as is the practice on such occasions.
